Reflective writing @ the bodyA space for reflection, writing and sharing guided by Cynthia Troup and hands-on Alexander Technique with David Young
Whatever is arising from our practice, here is an opportunity for a deeper communication with the play of our inter-connectedness, not separate from creative activity in the world. The workshop is designed to share an emotionally positive approach to reflection and reflective writing, emphasising openness to the mind’s natural creativity, and awareness of the body. Open to practitioners across disciplines. 2-6pm Saturday 8th February 2025 Room 2, upstairs St Mark’s Community Centre 250 George Street, Fitzroy VIC 3065 Melbourne, Australia |
MeditationStopping is easier said than done. Many people feel that they don't have time to stop, or else they have been forced to stop by chronic pain, burn out or some external circumstance in their life.
Meditation invites you to stop in order to calm the nervous system and observe what is going on in your life and around you. Discover and transform the habits and patterns that shape determine things like your attitudes, posture, mood, bearing and behaviour. With powerful tools such as stopping, meditation, Alexander Technique and self reflection, a completely new way of being starts to emerge. This work is not a quick fix. It can be challenging, both slow and at times shockingly rapid, and it requires a commitment of time and energy from both of us. If you are interested in knowing more, please get in touch. Please note that as part of my commitment to accessibility and a more just, ethical and sustainable world, I am offering my work by donation for regular clients. Coaching available online and in person. "David’s approach is whole and empowering: Gently guiding me towards finding my own resources within me." Cassie, textile & web designer |
Transform your selfAlexander Technique has so many benefits and advantages to offer. Starting with the fact of the body, it is possible to experience lightness, deep relaxation, renewed energy and awareness in your daily life.
I have observed that the clients who undertake regular sessions get the most out of this work. I recommend a five week program of 2 times per week, especially when first encountering the technique. I love working in this way, and know that through this, truly powerful life transformations are possible. That is why I offer an immersive course at discounted rates. |
